Ella Fitzgerald Foundation

The Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation was established by Ella Fitzgerald in 1993 to support music education, literacy, educational opportunities for children, health and wellness initiatives, and services for underserved communities. The foundation continues Ella Fitzgerald’s legacy by funding programs that promote the arts, education, healthcare access, and support for at-risk youth.
The Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations aligned with its core focus areas, including music and arts education, literacy, scholarships, healthcare support, and programs serving disadvantaged communities. The foundation is a small private foundation and does not accept unsolicited grant applications; funding is awarded by invitation only through the board’s internal grantmaking process.
