I’m happy to announce the publication of my new book, People-Centered Architecture: Design, Practice, & Education

People-Centered means leveraging fresh insights from neuroscience and the other sciences of humans about how real people interact with architecture. The goal is to inform and transform design thinkingto make it more empathic, wiser, more beautiful, healthier and more humane, and to make that often-challenging set of tasks easier as well.

As a longtime reader of the literature and as a teacher incorporating it into foundation courses in architecture, both beginning in 1983, I find the insights, once curated for relevance, to be of enormous value in my own design projects and to my colleagues. They are hungry for the ideas and insights that are arising rapidly these days.

At the same time, without diluting its message for architects, teachers of architects and students, the book also serves the “Coalition of the Curious,” including many people I know who are intrigued by architecture and architects, people I believe will find pulling back the curtain revealing and rewarding. In that way, I hope a broader audience will become aware of how a neuroscience orientation informs many dimensions in their lives.

My book is available from many booksellers. If you ultimately purchase a copy through Amazon I'd be grateful if you'd consider leaving a review. As a new author, I'm now discovering that books need reader support to find their broadest audience.
