About
Neuroarts Resource Center
The field of neuroarts is the study of how the arts and aesthetic experiences measurably change the brain, body, and behavior – and how this knowledge is translated into specific practices that advance health and wellbeing. The goal of the NeuroArts Blueprint initiative is to ensure that the arts and the use of the arts – in all of its many forms – become part of mainstream medicine and public health.
The Neuroarts Resource Center is a foundational platform of this initiative. Developed in partnership with the neuroarts community, the NRC is a first-of-its-kind online asset designed to bring diverse fields, people, and organizations together across the globe, through an easy-to-access platform, unconstrained by conventional silos. It is a live resource. Content is submitted to the Resource Center by the community, with ongoing participation directly helping to grow and strengthen the field.
This state-of-the-field resource includes a vast, highly interactive and continually updated compilation of neuroarts-related material, including research, clinical findings, arts practices, funding opportunities, organizations and agencies, and convenings from around the world, in all art modalities and from clinic-to-community outcomes. The Resource Center is fully indexed and searchable, and also includes a community bulletin board, a listing of education and training programs, toolkits and field guides, a job board, an events calendar, and more.
To ensure that the Resource Center meets the evolving needs of the neuroarts community, the NeuroArts Blueprint initiative will continue to both draw upon the expertise of the Neuroarts Resource Center advisory group and reach out to the community and other stakeholders for their input.
The initiative is grateful to the bedari collective, Google Arts & Culture, and the Music Man Foundation, which are providing both financial support and technical expertise to the Resource Center.
