Seeking NeuroArts Partner in Crime to Propose 2026 AWP Conference & Bookfair Event
Posted byRobert Lang II

Hello friends,

I'm a recent creative writing MFA graduate from San Diego. One of the biggest conferences within the writing community is AWP (Association of Writers and Writing Programs).

For the 2026 conference in Baltimore, I was hoping to propose an event focused explicitly on discussing the neuropsychological impact writing and stories have on both the storyteller and the audience. Moreso, I'd also like to speak to the importance of interdisciplinary crossover between artistic genres as well as the sciences. With that said, I would love to hear from some of the community here who might be interested in joining me in writing a proposal to present at the next conference!

Unfortunately the deadline is June 16th, which is quickly approaching, but I'm hoping someone out there might be excited by the opportunity. I'm open to all-comers be you an artist, arts practitioner, or researcher. Frankly, the more diverse your area of expertise the better!

Thank you for your time!
