Community Health Musician Certificate at Berklee College of Music

The Community Health Musician Certificate supports musicians and community leaders inspired to use their musical skills to benefit the well-being of others. This program is intentionally designed to emphasize expertise, scope of practice and boundaries of practice so that community musicians can provide experiences that are both relevant, meaningful and safe for themselves and participants.
The curriculum includes modules focused on music, health, and well-being; research and practice within the arts in health landscape; ethical and cultural considerations; musicianship tools and resources; and community program development. A hybrid format is used, with a combination of remote coursework and in-person intensives that take place over the course of two weekends. Post-certificate completion, graduates will have continued opportunities for supervision, networking, and resource sharing to ensure communities of support throughout program expansion.
