Today, I’m the creative force behind AMP ILLUSTRA, where I help researchers and scientists transform complex ideas into captivating, visually stunning illustrations.
Hello, I am Alana.
I am the mind behind the AMP ILLUSTRA, a science nerd and nonfiction illustrator. Currently based in Scotland, I have a Master's in Biomedicine and a Doctor's degree in Neuroscience. During my PhD, I drew a cell never drawn before and fell in love with scientific illustration.
In addition, I enjoy celebrating my heritage through Illustrations, capturing the vibrant culture and stories from Brazil and the Amazon.
Currently, I am working as a freelancer, helping others translate their science into appealing visual material. Let’s work together!
Interests
I'm fascinated by all things science, but I have a special passion for biomedical topics—Neuroscience, in particular, is always at the forefront of my curiosity. I'm equally drawn to Pharmacology, Climate Change, Food Science, Evolution, Natural History, and everything related to Space.
When it comes to art, graphite is still my favorite medium to kickstart any illustration. That said, I also love bringing my creations to life digitally. Finally, I'm a dedicated plant lover and a yoga learner.
