Chris Murchison

I am an artist and arts facilitator. I have always made art and more recently discovered the power art and art-making have to support human wellbeing. My work is now creatively using art to accompanying individuals and groups to build greater self-awareness, expression, and agency.
I love creative problem solving, using my wisdom, intuition, and varied art forms to support self-awareness, growth, and well-being. I worked for many years in human resources, talent development, and organisation development. My career has spanned the higher education, non-profit, financial services, technology, and philanthropic sectors. This have given me a diverse and unique perspective on the experience of work and workplace culture.
My work is inspired by the research and frameworks of relational art therapy, positive psychology, mindfulness, emotional intelligence, appreciative inquiry, and applied improvisation.
Weaving this all together, I am drawn to multi-disciplinary approaches, particularly ones that incorporate the arts and the unique solutions art-making provides.
Interests
I love so many things! Baking, knitting, bread-making, collage, sketching, movement, writing, and dabbling.
I am passionate by art making and love hearing artists talk about their process.
