Hidden Truths Project (HTP) believes that the arts can become the narrative to engage and empower marginalized members of our society to promote dialogue and foster understanding and acceptance.

Our 1:26 The Art of Epilepsy exhibits, Mindful-based Art Workshops, and If Not Us, Then Who? film series and forums provides the catalyst to facilitate a dialogue based on lived experiences and to dismantle the stigmatization directed against these individuals.

Hidden Truths Project’s mission is to raise awareness about the pervasiveness of the hidden disability of epilepsy, and to improve the quality of life and well-being for these individuals, their families, and caregivers.

Core Values
1. Cultivating an environment of inclusivity for all members of society, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, ability, health condition, gender identity, socio-economic status, citizenship, or religion.

2. Collaborate with individuals across a diverse population to understand each other’s views, thereby paving the way for constructive transformation and an environment based on equity.

3. Promote creative expression as an opportunity for disenfranchised members of society to candidly and without censorship “speak up” to help raise awareness about the pervasiveness and impact of epilepsy on well-being.

4. Inspire others to think, join in the conversation, and become engaged partners of change.

5. Through collective engagement we foster community building with peers and the public driven by an art-inspired narrative.
