I lead world-class performing arts continuing education experiences for learners of all ages and spearhead Juilliard’s work in creative aging and arts in healthcare. Through partnerships with senior living communities, hospitals, and public health organizations, we create programs that inspire, educate, and improve quality of life while advancing research and best practices.

As Dean of Juilliard Extension, John-Morgan Bush brings a leadership philosophy grounded in the belief that artistry and humanity are inseparable. He works to ensure that the programs shaping artists also nurture wholeness, curiosity, and purpose at every stage of life.

His approach focuses on building programs and policies that are both strategically sound and deeply humane. He believes that lasting excellence comes from environments where individuals feel seen, supported, and challenged to grow.

Whether designing a new course, mentoring faculty, or leading national creative aging initiatives, Bush asks: How can this invite people to become more fully themselves? Through this lens, he is helping shape a culture where the practical and the poetic inform one another—and where possibility is not just promised, but felt.
