I am an artist, art therapist, teacher and author who worked in the field of addiction for 23 years. That led me to my involvement with traumatology, energy healing and neuroscience. I am passionate about introducing the creative arts therapies to these populations. I am currently writing a second book on the neuroscience of art therapy for addiction and trauma, as I see people privately .

While studying for my MFA in painting, I learned about art therapy and was immediately drawn to it after reading Edith Kramer. I've worked and studied creativity, healing, psychology, and neuroscience for about 36 years. I've continued to paint, print, draw and make assemblages and collages and occasionally show my work. Since starting my private practice I have been writing about what I learned in working for hospitals and agencies with people with various addictions. I edited and published "Art therapy in the Treatment of Addiction and Trauma" in 2021. I began a book on the neuroscience of art therapy for addiction and trauma. In January this year I published an open-access article in Frontiers in Psychiatry called 'Art therapy 's engagement of neural networks for enduring recovery from addiction':
https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2024.1458063. I also have wirtten a chapter that is in press on the use of art therapy with children of addiction 'Art Therapy’s Use in Groups for Young Children Affected by Parental SUDs' in a book edited by Dr. Jennifer Baggley.
