Welcome to the Neuroarts Resource Center!

Our team will periodically post updates in this space to keep you informed on how the platform is evolving. Thank you for being part of the neuroarts community.

6-9-25: We’re excited to share that the NRC’s social feed now includes comments—making it easier than ever to engage in conversation and connect with others across the community. We’ve also made several quality-of-life improvements, including an enhanced notifications system. Now, you’ll receive an alert when your submitted organization has been verified. If you’ve previously submitted an organization, don’t forget to make it publicly visible so the community can find and connect with you!

Rachel Symons

Founder/Director at Freestyle Expressive Movement
Sacramento, California, United States

I am a dance teacher working at the intersection of disability and dance for the last five years. I started the program Freestyle Expressive Movement to provide more inclusive dance classes for people with disabilities, serious illness and caregivers.

Freestyle Expressive Movement is an adaptive dance program making dance and movement more accessible to everyone of all abilities.

Joy and community are our driving tenets at Freestyle Expressive Movement. We strive to create a space where everyone feels welcome, safe and free to explore dance and movement on their own terms and regardless of ability or wellness. We aspire to facilitate authentic connections with dancers, caregivers, teachers and the larger community to create a truly inclusive, integrated circle of support.

We aspire to help everyone we meet reconnect with their love of dance. Through an intergenerational, inter-ability approach, our vision is to bring people together in community, love and movement. We see a world where everyone has access to dance regardless of ability, age, or financial situation.
