This intensive, week-long, in-person course offers a unique opportunity to develop the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to effectively integrate music into hospital settings.

Led by Sarah HooverLara Bruckmann, and Tamara Wellons, with insights from guest experts including musicians, music therapists, arts in health practitioners, hospital staff, and patients, this program provides a comprehensive overview of music’s role in healing, focusing on developing musical practices with the aim of creative engagement rather than therapeutic outcomes. Instruction will take place at both the Peabody Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital, offering valuable real-world context.
