This event will kick off the 9th season of Project UnLonely films, featuring 30+ new, powerful short films focused on loneliness and connection. All films will be available to stream from our website. We invite you to join the virtual launch event from 7-8PM EDT on June 1, when the winners of Season 9 will be announced.
The Foundation for Art & Healing launches 33 short films celebrating the joy of connection, with support from acclaimed actor and director Steve Buscemi.
The Foundation for Art & Healing (FAH) proudly announces the return of celebrated actor and director Steve Buscemi as ambassador for Project UnLonely Films Season 9.
Since 2016, FAH’s Project UnLonely Films initiative has raised awareness of the loneliness crisis, reduced stigma, and supported populations at risk for loneliness through arts-based programs that strengthen feelings of connection and belonging, increasing health and wellbeing.
As a returning ambassador, Buscemi continues his partnership with FAH as they release the new season of 33 short films that portray social disconnection, highlighting characters who navigate this complex emotion in their own unique ways.
Responding to the current uncertain times, Project UnLonely Films has selected films for Season 9 that celebrate the joys of connection. The films are not only moving and insightful, they are also fun, often funny, and even a bit irreverent – offering much-needed respite from challenging current events.
The free virtual launch event will take place on June 1 at 7:00pm EST and will include a filmmaker panel discussion, plus conversations with Buscemi, FAH Founder and President Jeremy Nobel, MD, MPH, and Lionsgate Films’ former President of Motion Picture Production Mike Paseornek. Together, they will explore the power of film to engage, inspire, empower, and connect.
