Some of the most potent healing work happens between the lanes the funding world keeps separate, and this fund exists for the people building bridges there. Neuroarts Fund for Innerversal Health Practitioners backs educators and practitioners creating phygital learning experiences, programs that live simultaneously in the body, the screen, and the room, spanning sound medicine, somatic integration, steeping arts, and narrative self-expression, made for people who've been told their knowledge and their ways of processing the world don't belong anywhere.
The fund is led by Kamau Zuberi Akabueze, who left a Chief Creative Officer career in 2022 to found THE ÅLïEN SCõÖL for Creative Thinking and has been building community platforms like CREÅTIVE STEEPING and the 1000 Ways to Sit series ever since; each year he'll invite the fund's creators to gather at Mars College, the site-built desert school in Bombay Beach, to mature their programs side by side. (More about this is ELIGIBILITY).
NeuroArtistry (the conjoined perspective)
NeuroArtistry is an emergent practice that converges the science of how arts and aesthetic experiences reshape the brain, body, and behavior with the technology of deliberate creative self-engagement and the cartographic discipline of navigating the human being's internal universe, and how this convergence can be embodied by practitioners as a living methodology designed to advance the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. This category of neuroscientific arts includes physical, mental, and social health, but also creative intelligence as an accessible relationship with our imagination, elevating the ecological contribution of a practitioner's own creative expression to the vibratory resonance that surround them.
NeuroArtistry supports the ongoing movement from creative dislocation toward ecological integration.
Innerversal Health Practicum studies the architecture of the human being's internal universe — the innerversal — and trains practitioners in the instruments, cartographies, and awareness practices required to navigate our innerworlds with precision, translating this inner capacity into programs designed to advance the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities, including physical and mental wellness.
Steeping Arts is an interdisciplinary practice that studies the science of how deliberate, temperature-sensitive, time-aware engagement with one's own creative material — through expressive writing, music-induced emotional activation, and embodied inquiry — reorganizes how the nervous system parses creative experience, and how this knowledge can be translated into explorative rituals designed to advance creative fluency and ecological wellbeing of individuals and communities. The Steeping arts elevate our capacity for sustained somatic attention, and the practitioner's ecological contribution to the resonant fields that surround them.

- Your project is a journey of integration :: it deepens creative responsibility in the lives of the people it engages, building across time rather than delivering in a single encounter.
- You stay in the room :: this fund favors practitioners who listen, build what their community asks for, and remain present long enough to see the work mature through seasons.
