Threewalls is a Chicago-based, Black feminist-led nonprofit arts organization that supports artists whose work is rooted in lived experience, community engagement, and social justice. Threewalls works to expand opportunities for historically underrepresented artists through community-centered art initiatives, emphasizing art as a tool for social change and community well-being.

The RaD Lab + Outside the Walls Fellowship is a multi-year fellowship supporting ALAANA-identified artists and creatives who use art, creativity, and radical imagination to advance racial justice and community transformation. Fellows receive substantial project funding (currently up to $40,000 annually), along with support for research, project development, public engagement, and implementation. Projects are designed to address community issues through creative practice and are ultimately presented as publicly accessible exhibitions, installations, or interventions. This opportunity supports creative work that intersects with community wellbeing, healing, social change, and the use of artistic practice to address complex human and societal challenges.

The Response/Relief Fund provides rapid-response financial support to artists and creatives facing urgent challenges or responding to pressing community needs. The fund was created to help sustain artistic and cultural workers during times of crisis while supporting projects that foster care, resilience, healing, and community connection. This funding may be relevant for artist-led initiatives that promote mental health, community wellbeing, trauma recovery, or other health-related outcomes through creative and cultural practices. The fund prioritizes accessibility, responsiveness, and direct support to artists whose work benefits their communities.
