At the Beginning was the Word is a NeuroArts essay written in French. From Baudrillard to Jung, it examines “semantic bleaching”: the reduction of ancient symbols (the Amazon, the Sun) into commercial logos. Against this cultural amnesia, artists like Cézanne and Duchamp acts as a resistance. I propose a praxis: transforming every gesture into an anchor to symbolically re-inhabit the world.

Abstract/Description
"At the Beginning was the Word" explores how symbolic systems shape human cognition, perception, and cultural memory. Drawing on Carl Jung and Jean Baudrillard, the essay examines “semantic bleaching,” whereby mythic symbols become flattened into commercial logos. At the intersection of neuroscience, semiotics, and artistic practice, it proposes art as a cognitive tool for reactivating symbolic depth and restoring meaning-making.
