Abstract/Description
The Planetary Health Education Framework provides guidance for educating global citizens, practitioners, and professionals to understand and address complex planetary health challenges. Designed primarily for learners entering higher education, the framework emphasizes the interconnectedness of human health and Earth’s natural systems, as well as the unequal impacts of environmental change across communities. It is organized around five foundational domains: interconnection within nature; the Anthropocene and health; equity and social justice; movement building and systems change; and systems thinking and complexity. By providing key themes, concepts, and suggested learning outcomes, the framework aims to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes needed to support transdisciplinary action, protect and restore planetary health, and contribute to healthier and more equitable societies.
