Poetry therapy, the art of expressing oneself through narrative poems, is a powerful form of art therapy that encourages introspection through the exploration of feelings and memory. Poetry's powerful effects on well-being through mindfulness has been known by early poets (at least 400 BCE!), and continue to prove effective at reducing feelings of stress and anxiety, even today.
