Artistree Executive Director

Lead the strategic, operational, and financial direction of a nonprofit community arts center offering visual arts, theatre, music, movement, and educational programming. Partner with the Founder and Board to oversee staff, fundraising, community engagement, and organizational growth while expanding equitable access to the arts.

Position Summary
- Provide overall strategic, operational, and financial leadership for Artistree while advancing its mission and long-term sustainability.
- Partner with the Founder and Board to oversee programs, staff, community partnerships, fundraising, and organizational growth.
- Serve as Artistree's primary public representative, strengthening community engagement and ensuring an inclusive, collaborative workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision (10%)
- Develop and implement long-term organizational strategy with the Founder and Board.
- Represent Artistree throughout the community while building relationships with artists, educators, donors, and civic partners.
- Support organizational planning, priorities, and governance.
Program Oversight & Development (20%)
- Oversee high-quality arts programming, including classes, camps, performances, exhibitions, and special events.
- Promote innovation, accessibility, and community responsiveness across all programs.
- Collaborate with artistic and education leaders to strengthen programming and outreach.
Resource & Financial Management (20%)
- Lead fundraising efforts through grants, major gifts, sponsorships, annual campaigns, and special events.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and nonprofit compliance.
- Cultivate donor, foundation, and community partnerships to diversify revenue.
Operational & Staff Leadership (40%)
- Direct daily operations, facilities, and organizational systems.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise staff while fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace.
- Develop policies and operational practices that support organizational efficiency and sustainability.
Communications & Community Engagement (10%)
- Serve as Artistree's primary spokesperson.
- Increase regional visibility through partnerships, media, public speaking, and community initiatives.
- Support marketing and communications that promote Artistree's mission, programs, and impact.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Approximately 10+ years of nonprofit arts, cultural, museum, or related leadership experience.
- Strong background in strategic planning, financial management, operations, and human resources.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, budgeting, and partnership development.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and public speaking skills.
- Passion for community arts, arts education, and equitable access.
Preferred
- Experience in arts administration, arts education, galleries, theatre, or music organizations.
- Background developing programs for diverse audiences.
- Experience collaborating with cross-sector community stakeholders.

Compensation
- Salary: $85,000–$100,000
