The Arts Education Programs Manager will manage Washington Performing Arts' school-based arts education programs, including Capital Arts Partnerships, Concerts In Schools, In-School Artist Residencies, DCPS All-City Ensembles, the Misbin Family Memorial Chamber Music Competition, and other initiatives as assigned. This position will also assist with other partnership programs and outreach.

Position Overview
- Manage and oversee Washington Performing Arts' school-based arts education initiatives, including artist residencies, concerts in schools, competitions, and DC Public Schools (DCPS) partnership programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Washington Performing Arts, DC-area schools, teaching artists, and community partners.
- Coordinate program implementation, communications, evaluation, budgeting, and reporting while supporting the organization's mission of expanding equitable access to performing arts education.
Program Management (70%)
- Lead the day-to-day planning, logistics, and implementation of multiple arts education programs.
- Manage program communications, documentation, scheduling, evaluation, data tracking, and reporting.
- Oversee program budgets, respond to external inquiries, and coordinate with marketing, advancement, and finance teams.
- Represent Washington Performing Arts at school events, performances, and community programs.
Relationship Building & Community Engagement (20%)
- Build and maintain partnerships with DC Public Schools, educators, teaching artists, and community organizations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for school districts and community partners.
- Recruit schools for education programs and identify new collaboration opportunities.
- Represent Washington Performing Arts at meetings, community events, and within the DC arts community.
Teaching Artist Engagement & Professional Development (10%)
- Recruit, onboard, and support teaching artists participating in education programs.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Coordinate contracting and payment processes with internal teams.
- Plan and facilitate professional development opportunities for teaching artists throughout the year.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience working with artists, educators, schools, or community organizations.
- Experience in project management, partnership development, and cross-sector collaboration.
- Knowledge of performing arts education and public school systems.
- Background in curriculum development, program evaluation, or culturally responsive programming is preferred.
- Must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Work Environment
- Full-time, exempt position based in Washington, DC.
- Hybrid schedule requiring at least three days per week in the office or at program sites.
- Regular travel to schools, performance venues, and community events.
- Occasional evening and weekend work; ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $62,500–$67,500 annually.
