Center for Arts in Medicine Interdisciplinary Research Lab

Gainesville, Florida, United States
Posted byGrace McKinstry

The Center for Arts in Medicine Interdisciplinary Research Lab explores the intersections of arts, health, and well-being. Research scholars collaborate with faculty on qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods studies, contributing to literature reviews, data collection, analysis, manuscript preparation, and independent research while developing research and leadership skills.

The lab is actively engaged in a range of research studies and welcomes research scholars of all backgrounds and experience levels, including university students, community members, and professionals. Whether you are new to research or an experienced investigator, opportunities are available across qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods projects that examine how arts and culture advance public health and healthcare outcomes.

Current research areas include:

  • The impact of arts and cultural engagement on social cohesion
  • Case studies and outcome research in arts on prescription
  • The mechanisms through which arts participation influences individual and community health and well-being

Research scholars contribute to a variety of activities, including literature reviews, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and other research support.

The team meets remotely via Zoom every Friday from 2:00–4:30 p.m. (ET) during the academic year.
