Mastering Chaos: A Musician's Guide
If you think you're human then this is for you.
Andrew Hodges discusses how musical development throughout life has such a significant impact on our health, mental well-being and our general happiness. We humans not only benefit from creating it and making it, but we also develop skills which have benefits in other aspects of our life and work.
I currently have several passions; playing the violin, composing and arranging music, and writing about music philosophy. In addition my other skills include yoga philosophy, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), web-based marketing and leadership development.
I began my music career at the Royal Academy of Music subsequently running music departments in London schools. I then switched careers to find success in corporate sales for Xerox before going on to work as an independent international trainer delivering courses across the UK, Europe and China in the Art and Science of Negotiation.
At the start of the new millennium, my partner Jan and I became the owners of a retreat centre in Normandy, offering yoga retreats and string quartet workshops.
As hobbies I love astrophotography and drone photography which I use in my music videos. I also write about music improvisation and its relationship to leadership excellence and effective team collaboration.
Based now in Gloucestershire (UK), my time is spent leading two string quartets, teaching the violin, and composing & arranging music for bowed stringed instruments. I am also the Founder & Editor of Sound Forum the world's leading music improvisation, sound healing & sound therapy website.
