Arianna Khmelniuk
I am a creator, thinker, and writer. I am trained in the visual arts, art history, graphic design, and theater. I am an educator, entrepreneur, speaker, and event organizer. I engage in scent design with clients and collaborate on brand activations alongside other creatives, chefs, designers, architects, and scientists.
I am an experimental artist based in Oakland, CA, and an MFA candidate in Art Practice at UC Berkeley. My research-based projects, Zapah Lab and Olfactory Playground, explore the application of scent in art and design. I presented at UC Berkeley, Stanford, Georgia State University, Georgia Tech, SCAD, and MIT.
My work has been featured at UC Berkeley, Upper Market Gallery, Asortymentna Kimnata (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine), MOCA GA, MINT, and Swan Coach House.
I am the recipient of grants from the Berkeley Center for New Media, the Race and Gender Center at UC Berkeley, the Hughley Fellowship, the Distinguished Fellowship stipend of the Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences, the Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts, and others. Published in SF Chronicle, SF Gate, Olfactive Material (Glasgow), and Vogue (Ukraine).
