I come to neuroarts a little sideways: by training I'm an impact investor in climate and deep tech, but what really brings me here is a fascination with how the arts can reshape the way we think, feel, and act — not metaphorically, but at the level of attention, emotion, and behavior.
This is personal for me. After fifteen years with an eating disorder, I'm in recovery — and music, immersive art, and dance have been central to that. The experience turned an intellectual interest into a conviction: that aesthetic experience can be genuinely restorative, and that we badly undervalue beauty — in our architecture, our public spaces, the experiences a city offers — as a force for wellbeing and behavior.
I'd love to contribute, whether by taking part in studies or by helping others access what helped me. My longer-term dream is something I think of as capsules — restorative aesthetic experiences built into the infrastructure of a city, places people can step into to recharge. In a similar spirit, I recently started a small community called Anti-Grey, a gentle rebellion against how relentlessly grey our built environment has become.
I've also been following the empirical side, and I'm excited to learn from this community, especially around the bridge between neuroaesthetics and the futures we're able to imagine together.
Interests
I'm drawn to creating beauty — through arts, gestures, and dreams. I love the circus, musicals, immersive experiences, and architecture, and I'm fascinated by how beauty shapes individuals and communities. I'm pulled toward the narratives that make people dream, the visual representations that help them picture those dreams, and the impact such productions can set in motion. I also love autobiographies, and the lives that show what's possible.
