I’m a member of NOAH, the Performing Arts Medicine Association, Fascial Research Society, and the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals. With my skills as a hand drummer and synth nerd, I’ve researched and developed a manual approach to vibrating the body musically which has aligned with my work consulting a vibroacoustics immersive experience technology firm.

I am a husband, father and in private practice, specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders of performing artists, professional & recreational athletes, and individuals living with chronic (nociplastic) pain.

My creative path started with exploring visual art as a means of communicating fascinating qualities in mundane things, with small gallery shows in upstate New York (1997-2002). Overlapping this time period was an exploring of musical rhythm as a hand percussionist (1994-present) rarely performing live accept for a few short stints with a seattle based Contra Dance band called Zolo at folk music festivals and Contra Dance venues. My love of music and moving people with rhythm overlapped my time as a bodyworker, where the ability to move people out of their pain, and teaching, became my art form of choice (2011-present).

Interests

Currently I am interested in combining my life’s experiences with the art of music and the practice of treating musculoskeletal pain manually, with the use of immersive experience technology, to produce protocols and or approach principles to be applied to:

1. The normalization of symptoms associated with chronic pain, stress, and anxiety in a special population.
2. Enhancing performance readiness of an athlete or performing artists.

To these ends, I am looking to network with anyone whose interests and pursuits align with mine. This would include but is not limited to early career researchers interested in partnering to achieve the Rene’e Fleming Neuroarts Investigator Award.
