Creative One-Meta Art

MetaArt™ is a genre of intuitive, frequency-based abstract painting used as a meditation portal through Ocular Meditation™, an eyes-open contemplative practice rooted in Trataka. Viewers consistently report measurable shifts in awareness and nervous system state. Formal research into its neurophysiological effects is actively being pursued.
Creative One is the independent studio practice of Lee Ann Heltzel, artist, death doula, and originator of MetaArt™ and Ocular Meditation™. Based outside Pittsburgh, PA, Creative One develops and advances MetaArt as a contemplative and research-informed practice at the intersection of visual art, consciousness studies, and human well-being. Lee Ann is a 2026 Artist-in-Residence at the Chautauqua Institution School of Art, a 2024 MvVO Art Award winner, and a death doula of over 30 years. Her work has been engaged by clinicians, researchers, and individuals following near-death and spiritually transformative experiences. She is Co-Founder of Millions Meditating and sits on the Advisory Board of the Interstellar Community Foundation.
Mission:
To advance the formal study of visual perception as a contemplative pathway, and to make MetaArt™ and Ocular Meditation™ available as supportive tools for nervous system regulation, consciousness exploration, and human well-being.
Vision:
A world in which the act of looking, with intention, softness, and open attention, is recognized as a measurable pathway to expanded awareness, and in which art is understood not only as expression, but as a perceptual environment that actively supports human flourishing.
