Dana Schloesser
I am a health scientist administrator at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR), with a focus on the neurosciences across the NIH, particularly where they intersect with the behavioral and social sciences. Currently involved in: the BRAIN Initiative, Harnessing Arts Research & Practice (HARP) for Health Working Group, and others.
Over the past 2 decades, I have been engaged in several fields of biological research, including behavioral neuroscience, sleep and circadian biology, interoception, and radiation neurobiology.
Prior to my current position at NIH, I was a AAAS Fellow/Health Scientist (2014/2015) at the NIH Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR) focused on behavioral neurosciences. In this role I coordinated and promoted the behavioral and social sciences across the other institutes and offices at the NIH, performed programmatic and portfolio analyses, and helped move science forward through various programmatic efforts. After my fellowship, I was a Health Scientist at the NIH, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) in Channels, Synapses, and Neural Circuits. I was involved in programmatic efforts involving chronic fatigue, epilepsy, and the BRAIN Initiative.
