I am a semi-retired addiction psychiatrist in Chicago, on staff at Northwestern. I consult with a program I founded called the Positive Sobriety Institute and am introducing an art therapy technique that involves enhancing pareidolia.
This involves finding patterns in stones, usually faces, that are then outlined by an illustration pen and enhanced as seen fit by the patient. There is then an effort to explore meaning in these images as they relate to their intra-psychic and interpersonal relationships.
