Darci Gamerl - Bel Canto Duo
Brought together by friends & a shooting star, Bel Canto Duo was founded by looping artist & cellist, David Downing & multi-instrumentalist, Darci Gamerl. BCD creates lyrical, poignant lines with minimalist influences rooted in healing music science. Members of the NAC Touring Artist Roster, BCD received Outstanding New Artist (2023) by Omaha Entertainment Awards.

News Tribune, oboe & English horn specialist, Darci Griffith Gamerl's
groundbreaking, collaborative work has taken her to stages around the
world.
A frequent soloist, Ms. Gamerl created a successful
commission consortium with her vision for a new solo English horn
concerto that highlighted the work of women change makers: Amanda
Gorman, Zitkala-Ša & Malala Yousafzai. ‘Courageous Lights' premiered
with Ms. Gamerl as the soloist with Maestro Dirk Meyer & the Augusta
Symphony Orchestra in January of 2024.
Ms. Gamerl has been recognized by The American Prize for her
compositions & chamber music artistry. As a TedX speaker, her talks center
around ethical business & crafting a career in classical
music.
Founding member of new music ensemble, Bel Canto Duo, Ms.
Gamerl works closely with looping artist & cellist David Downing.
Past commissioners include The National Willa Cather Center &
Gallery 1516 , The Joslyn & Chesterwood.
BCD's release Willa Cather: Breaking the Mold received critical acclaim.
The film highlights Cather’s personal life & work with extensive
commentary by the great American filmmaker, Ken Burns.
Other awards include Outstanding New Artist by the Omaha
Entertainment Awards (2023).
