Ella Barnes

Creator exploring consciousness through sculpting light with cyanotype
Ella Barnes is a multidisciplinary artist exploring consciousness and the unseen architecture of the universe through sculptural forms that cast shadows to create cyanotypes. Her practice delves into the therapeutic impact of making art—particularly how the cyanotype process can regulate the nervous system, support mental clarity, and engage the brain’s innate drive toward beauty and coherence. Deeply attuned to chromatherapy and the frequencies of color, she is especially drawn to the vibrational intelligence of blue. Based in NYC, Ella shares her process through teaching at Penumbra Foundation and leading workshops and events across the U.S. and Europe. Her work has been exhibited internationally and invites others into a space where light, color, and consciousness converge.
