Architect - Scientist - Educator
Mar is a PhD architect whose research explores the intersection of Architecture and Neuroscience, focusing on how environmental design influences human cognition. She earned her doctorate from the Universitat Politècnica de València with cum laude distinction and International Mention, and her thesis has been recently nominated for the Extraordinary Doctorate Award. Her research was also recognized with an Excellence Fellowship from the IMFAHE Foundation, which supported a research internship at the Penn Center for Neuroaesthetics, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania (USA).
She also has research experience in Advanced Materials and Sensors, work that has been recognized with several awards of excellence, including the XVII Arquímedes National Research Prize from the Spanish Ministry of Science for the discovery of new advanced materials (2018), as well as a patent highlighted in a Feature article in the prestigious journal Nature (Nature Biotechnology 2023, 41, 1385).
She has also worked in education, conducting lessons in Aesthetics, Arts, and Mathematics at Colegio Fundación San Vicente Ferrer, one of the oldest educational institutions in the world, yet also recognized for its innovation and quality, and currently nominated for the prestigious Princesa de Asturias award.
