Mary Bircher
I have recently returned to my hometown of Richmond, Virginia following a successful career as principal harpist with the Omaha Symphony. I am a certified clinical musician, sharing harp music in hospitals, hospice and other healthcare settings.
As a Certified Clinical Musician for many years I played regularly at Omaha's Josie Harper Hospice House, Omaha Children’s Hospital and Medical Center and the UNMC Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. In Richmond, I recently completed two years as Resident Harpist at Bon Secours St Mary's Hospital where I shared healing music in the surgery waiting area, the main lobby and the emergency department. I have been a member of the Therapeutic Musicians of the Blue Ridge, playing at Hospice of the Piedmont Hospice House.
Interests
My passion is sharing music in healthcare. It is exciting to me to connect with others through the language of music. It is wonderful to see the growing interest in the arts and healthcare. I look forward to new opportunities and to connecting with others who share similar interests and passions.
