Megan Wahl

I’m Megan Wahl, PhD, an independent public health researcher and interdisciplinary artist exploring the intersection of health, embodiment, and creative practice. Through photography, embroidery, poetry, and mixed media, my work examines memory, trauma, healing, and the nervous system, with a focus on arts-based research, women’s health, and neuroarts.
My current work centers on Somatic Cartography, an interdisciplinary project that uses photography, embroidery, poetry, and mixed media to map embodied experience and explore the relationship between the nervous system, memory, trauma, and healing. I’m particularly interested in arts-based research methods, neuroarts, creative wellbeing, and the role artistic practice can play in regulation, meaning-making, and connection.
I’m also interested in opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, consulting, and professional research partnerships within the neuroarts and arts-and-health space as I continue building my professional identity in this emerging field both as a researcher and artist. I would especially welcome connections related to collaborative research projects, remote postdoctoral opportunities, arts-based research initiatives, and cross-sector work bridging neuroscience, public health, and creative practice.
I hope to both contribute to and learn from this community through thoughtful interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration around health, embodiment, creativity, and human flourishing.
