ReCAP - Researchers’ Collaborative Arts Process is a series of workshops and a subsequent Visual Arts Exhibition primarily for Researchers, who do not necessarily identify as Visual Artists but who are interested in becoming more emotionally connected to and therefore more effective in their own research practice. (Bondi, 2006). I am predicting that ReCAP will bring exciting new opportunities for researchers across a variety of disciplines. With this process I am aiming to develop a consistent strategy for academics to increase their connection to their research. I believe that this will increase efficacy, stamina, quality and quantity of future research projects. I intend that this process will be useful in any discipline and that through the art making workshops and subsequent art exhibitions, the participants will communicate their findings to wider audiences. The alignment to recent findings in neuro aesthetics (Zeki and Nash, 1999) is clear.

Interests

I am interested in Visual Arts, collaborative practices, neuro aesthetics and helping others be seen. I work primarily on and in silk. Much of my work is suspended so that it moves as the viewer walks past thereby creating a subsequent participatory event. As I often work with others; both artists and those who don't identify as being artists, my work can be described as relational.
