Sergio Lopez Figueroa

Sergio López Figueroa is a pianist, composer and social entrepreneur born in Gran Canaria. Lived in London, Barcelona, Madrid and Bologna. His current professional interest is focused on the development of Polyhum® a multisensorial mindfulness technique and the use of harmonic vocal vibration for preventive mental health and participatory music co-creation through workshops and training.
In June 2023, he taught an online course on creative mindfulness and stress management for musicians sponsored by the SGAE Foundation. He has received recognition and awards from the Southbank Centre, Juan Carlos I University, (Madrid) and Ealing City Council in London in this field. From February 2021 to June 2022, he participated in the Gran Canaria Talent program managed by the Island Council (SPEGC) and is currently receiving support from the University Foundation of Las Palmas de GC (FULP) to implement Polyhum® in the island and national territory. In 1994 he moved to the United Kingdom to specialize in music for film and television, having completed a master's degree at Bournemouth University and higher studies at NFTS (National Film & TV School). He has received opera commissions (Mothers, Huddersfield Music Festival) and has composed original music for silent films (Tate modern / Dali Exhibition, 2007 London and Berlinale) theatre and concert music.
