Hi everyone, I’m Sheryl, a Brooklyn-based artist and designer working at the intersection of neuroscience, identity, and abstraction. My practice explores how internalized narratives, shape our sense of self, perception, and belonging.

I’m currently developing a series of works I call Neuro Blots—an abstract visual language inspired by cognitive mapping and Rorschach inkblots. These pieces use layered materials like foundation paints on glass to investigate how cultural conditioning, memory, and emotion are stored in the body and processed by the brain. The work is deeply influenced by neuroaesthetics, Eastern philosophy, and the psychological experience of being “seen” or misread.

Through neuroarts, I hope to contribute to a deeper understanding of how invisible systems—both neural and societal—impact our internal landscapes. I’m excited to be in community with others exploring these intersections, and to learn from folks bridging science and art in healing, provocative ways.

Interests

I'm interested in mapping synesthesia, learning more about how the brain responds to creativity and how epiphany thinking can be used as a primary mode of inspiration.
