Sheila Darcey

Artist, author, and founder of SketchPoetic® and The Living Canvas Foundation 501(c)(3). My work bridges art and neuroscience, exploring how intuitive sketching engages neural pathways for emotional regulation, empathy, and wellbeing. I translate this understanding into accessible, arts-based healing practices for all.
I am an artist, author, and founder of SketchPoetic®, a daily creative practice that bridges art, mindfulness, and emotional healing. My work explores how intuitive sketching activates neural pathways that support self-regulation, empathy, and embodied awareness. Through my nonprofit, The Living Canvas Foundation, I develop arts-based programs that bring the science of neuroarts into schools, workplaces, and communities. I believe art is a universal language that connects us to our inner world and to one another, a living expression of how creativity can transform the brain, expand consciousness, and foster collective wellbeing.
