Tārā is a creative mental health initiative grounded in science, shaped by art, and guided by cultural wisdom. We offer trauma-informed counseling, expressive arts workshops, and training programs that blend psychology, creativity, and community connection to support emotional resilience, post-traumatic growth, and holistic well-being.

Our approach is integrative and rooted in both modern clinical psychology and ancestral knowledge systems. We combine evidence-based practices—such as narrative therapy, somatic awareness, and mindfulness—with expressive arts, movement, breathwork, storytelling, and nature-based therapies. At the heart of Tārā’s model is a belief that healing is not only about reducing symptoms, but about restoring dignity, meaning, and connection to self and community.

We are especially attuned to the needs of those navigating complex trauma, culturally normalized harm, and experiences of marginalization. Each offering is designed to be accessible, culturally responsive, and grounded in a deep respect for individual and collective healing journeys.

Rooted in doctoral research and supported by the 2025 Global Arts in Medicine Fellowship, Tārā bridges modern psychology with ancient practices to create transformative, embodied pathways to healing.

Tārā is named after the divine feminine archetype of compassion, clarity, and liberation. Our red dot symbol represents dignity, agency, and the power to reclaim one’s story.

At Tārā, we believe healing is not a linear process—it is a creative one. We meet individuals and communities where they are and walk alongside them as they rediscover voice, vitality, and wholeness.

Let’s build a world where trauma doesn’t silence us—where it awakens our strength.

Programs & Activities

Programs Offered
Tārā serves a diverse range of partners and communities through programs designed to foster healing, resilience, and connection:

Counseling Services: One-on-one and small group sessions for adults—particularly women and members of underrepresented communities—navigating complex trauma, grief, anxiety, identity transitions, and emotional overwhelm.

Domestic Violence Support: Creative healing workshops offered in collaboration with shelters and women’s centers, supporting survivors of intimate partner violence, post-separation abuse, abuse by proxy, and culturally normalized harm.

Refugee & Resettlement Programs: Culturally attuned, arts-based psychosocial support that restores identity, belonging, and hope for displaced individuals and communities.

Corporate & Nonprofit Trainings: Trauma-informed wellness programs that foster emotional well-being, creativity, and collaboration for organizations, frontline teams, and leadership groups.

Integrated Therapeutic Approach: All offerings draw from expressive arts, movement, breathwork, storytelling, and evidence-based psychological tools such as narrative therapy and mindfulness.

Whether painting with survivors, facilitating breathwork for frontline workers, or guiding individuals through moments of rupture and renewal, Tārā honors the innate capacity within each person to heal and transform.
