I’m a Lebanese-American visual artist whose work blurs the lines between painting, activism, and environmental storytelling. My art reflects themes of resilience and renewal, shaped by my experiences growing up in war-torn Lebanon. I co-founded two nonprofits, Education Unbound and Tatweer Baladna, to empower underserved children and youth in the US and Lebanon through education.

I am a Lebanese-American visual artist whose work intersects memory, nature, and embodied experience. My relationship with art began in a war bunker in Lebanon, where I painted as a child to survive emotionally and psychologically. That early experience shaped my belief that the arts are not supplemental; they are essential to human healing and understanding. Today, I continue to use visual art as a way to connect communities, particularly those underserved by public health and cultural infrastructure.

I am drawn to NeuroArts because it validates what I have always intuitively known: that art changes the brain, body, and spirit. By participating in the NeuroArts community, I hope to contribute to visual art research grounded in lived experience, expand advocacy for integrating the arts into public health, and collaborate with others working to shift how we understand wellness, trauma, and recovery.

I’m developing a project that integrates immersive painting, community co-creation, and biometric research to measure how art impacts emotional regulation and social connection. I’m passionate about expanding access to the arts in underserved communities and contributing research that bridges aesthetics and public health.

I’m deeply interested in how the arts, especially painting, and the experiences of both observers and practitioners influence brain function, emotional regulation, and a sense of connection. Through this community, I hope to connect with like-minded artists, scientists, and advocates, share findings, and collectively advance the role of art as a catalyst for well-being.
