Early Career Researchers - A Concept of Manual Somatic Music - Worth Investigating?

Seattle, Washington
Manual Somatic Music (MSM) is an innovative therapeutic approach that harnesses the language of sensory dialogue by systematically combining principles from music theory and neuroscience with rhythmic hands-on somatic techniques. It is a modality where theoretically , rhythmic touch is used to create an embodied musical experience that stimulates healthful brain states.

Abstract/Description

Modern clinical practice faces challenges in addressing somatic symptoms such as stress, anxiety, and pain, which can be resistant to conventional treatment modalities. In response, non-pharmacological, body-based interventions have emerged, often leveraging the human response to rhythm and touch elicited through sensory input. Manual Somatic Music (MSM) is presented here as an innovative therapeutic concept that systematically combines principles from music and neuroscience with hands-on somatic techniques, aiming to engage the client as an active participant in a sensory dialogue.
