The Neuro: Artist Residency
We are thrilled to announce the Open Call for The Neuro: Artist Residency '26-'27 Season. If you have experienced a neurodisruption (TBI, stroke, a diagnosis that involves a rewiring brain) and you are exploring your creative practices, this is for you. We are a peer-led organization. We understand the power of art and healing. We offer a non-patholiging and integrative space to explore.
We are launching our '26-'27 Artist Residency program in Spring City, Utah, supporting people with neurodisruptions (traumatic brain injury, multiple concussions, strokes, or other diagnoses that interrupt neural pathways, and a rewiring brain).
We host our program at Birch Creek Service Ranch from August 15th to May 15th (during the non-camper season).
The Neuro: Artist Residency is an opportunity for someone with a neurodisruption to explore their creative practice in a serene natural environment, with all the amenities - WIFI, wood-burning stove, commercial kitchen, private rooms, showers, laundry, and a large lodge area that can serve as studio space. There's a wood shop, bunk house, and yurt to explore as studio environments, too.
Spring City offers a local gallery and is a community of artists, from potters and painters to musicians and poets. Snow College (Ephraim) hosts weekly Art Talks, which previous artists have attended and loved. Whether you choose to explore locally or spend time at "the ranch," each artist has a very different experience.
Our artists describe their experience as "life-changing," "a significant part of my healing journey." Others have said it was a "recalibration," it "reshaped how I view creativity," "The Neuro remains one of the most meaningful steps forward for me in my healing journey." One person wrote this about their experience: "something really freaking cool and fun and enriching and empowering and a whole bunch of other incredible adjectives."
Please share, connect, or apply if this calls to you or anyone in your community.
